We've been working hard behind the scenes to create an all new v4 app for our partners at Keep Britain Tidy.

On this page we're going to share a few tips for how to use it.

When you launch the app for the first time, you'll be asked whether to allow notifications, and if the app can use your location.  We'd recommend that you do this - it lets us keep in touch so that you can see what's going on locally to you, and it allows you to make reports more easily.  We don't send spam, and we don't harvest information regarding your location!

There's a brief video here which explains those first steps:

Once you're in the app you'll probably be able to figure out what's going on by just having a browse around - don't worry, you won't be able to break anything.  However, if you'd like a brief explanation of what the icons and buttons on the Keep Britain Tidy side of the app do, then this video might be worth a watch...

One of the main purposes of the Keep Britain Tidy app is to allow you to see what's going on near you, and also to update events that are in progress.  You can do all this from the initial map screen - just navigate to an event and click on the pin to see what's going on.  For live events you can add also add photos to share with others.  There's a brief video of this below:

The other thing that the KBT app does is allow you to make reports about environmental issues.  To do this, you need to switch from the Keep Britain Tidy side of the app over to the Love Clean Streets area.  You can switch between the two sides using the button on the bottom right.

Then, if you haven't already, the first step is to validate your profile on the app.  The point of this is to keep you updated regarding your reports and it only takes a couple of steps.  Start by clicking on the profile icon (it looks like a head and shoulders), enter your email address, and click Validate.  In a few moments you'll receive an email with a link to click.  Once you've clicked on the link, come back to the app and click Confirm.  That's it, validation complete.  Again, there's a video here that shows you how easy it is:

Last but not least, to make a report start from the map on the Love Clean Streets side of the app, take a photo using the big button in the middle, and then enter a description and the report category before sending the report, or saving it to send later.  See below for a video showing how simple it is to do...
